Fluid dynamic modelling, large-scale experiments, and field study of explosive volcanic eruptions. Special interest in pyroclastic currents and their deposits. Associate Editor of the Arabian Journal of Geosciences, Springer for the section Petrology, Volcanology, and Geothermal Research. Currently working on the thermo-fluid dynamics and emplacement of ignimbrites at Andean volcanoes, and in Tenerife.
